Artist Spotlight: Jeff Piper

JEFF WEBWaterFire Sharon welcomes back artist, Jeff Piper.  Jeff  lives in North East Ohio with his wife Molly and 3 sons.  Jeff Has been a high school art teacher for 10 years as his main career, but paints and displays his work in his free time.  He currently displays his work in Columbus, Ohio at the Mac Worthington Gallery (www.macworthington.com) and Sharon, Pennsylvania at Gallery 29 (www.gallery29ofsharon.com).

Jeff Graduated with a BFA from Kent State University in 2002 and began his teaching career in 2004.  In 2010 Jeff became the first student to graduate from Youngstown State’s new Master of Arts Education program.  His concentration was mostly on paintingPAINTING1 during his quest for an MA, but also dabbled in ceramics and writing/illustrating a children’s book.  His work has won awards in various galleries and museums in Ohio and Pennsylvania including The Butler Museum of American Art, The Pittsburgh Art Institute, and The Outreach Gallery.

PAINTING2Much of Jeff Piper’s work can be found hanging on walls of local patrons that commission his talents to fit the color schemes of their own homes.10251960_653955318023521_548003200748661292_n

You can also find Jeff displaying other talents as the front man for his band, Midnight Rendezvous.

He plays guitar, harmonica, and sings both original music and cover songs around North East Ohio.
