WaterFire Sharon Welcomes the Boardman Jazz Ensemble

MUSIC BANNER

BOARDMAN JAZZ WEBThe Boardman High School Jazz Ensemble has performed at numerous jazz festivals, community events, and concerts including venues at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Fat Fish Blue in Cleveland, and South Street Seaport, Trump Plaza, B.B. King’s Blues Club, and Swing 46 in New York City.  They have accompanied the late, great jazz trumpeter and band leader Maynard Ferguson, saxophonist Phil Woods, and trombonist Randy Purcell.  Alumni of the program include prominent performers and educators all over the world.

Waterfire Sharon is the final performance for this year’s “Summer Jazz.”  Recent and current members have performed summer concerts at venues including Progressive Field and local jazz and arts festivals.  This program started with a single performance that featured the band playing the music of West Coast horn band Tower of Power.  It has grown into a retrospective of the students’ favorite selections played during the school year.
