Master Woodturners Featured

The James E. Winner Jr. Arts & Culture Center will feature over 80 one-of-a-kind hand turned works of art created by members of the BuckeyeWOOD BOWL FINAL Woodworkers & Woodturners (BWWT) of Ohio during WaterFire Sharon on July 19.  Featured artists include Joe Herrmann, Editor of Woodturning Design magazine, Hoby Horn, Dave Wells and Bill Stone who was trained by renowned woodturner David Ellsworth.

The exhibit showcases a wide range of pieces turned out of burrs and intriguing wind blown or dead timber that expose the treasures of nature found beneath the bark turning a piece of wood into art.  Many of the pieces are available for purchase and some of the artists will be on hand during the day to answer questions and talk more about the process of woodturning.

TURNED WOOD FINAL“We are excited to showcase the work of woodturning artists from one of the country’s oldest woodturning organizations,” said Nathan Matt, Executive Director of the James E. Winner Jr. Arts & Culture Center.  “This exhibit will be a unique addition to the WaterFire Sharon events.”

The exhibit is available for viewing Saturday, July 19th from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the 2nd floor gallery.
